| mutual fund | an open-end investment company that invests money of its shareholders in a usually diversified group of securities of other corporations |

| preferred stock | stock guaranteed priority by a corporation's charter over common stock in the payment of dividends and usually in the distribution of assets |
| corporate bond | a debt security issued by a company to raise capital |
| government bond | an investment where an individual lends money to a government, which uses the funds to finance projects or manage debt |
| beneficiary | a person or thing that receives help or an advantage from something |
| executor | the person appointed by a testator to execute a will |
| trust | assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something |
| estate | social standing or rank especially of a high order |
| will | a legal document that outlines what happens to a business after the owner dies, ensuring its continuity and protecting the owner's family |
| power of attorney | a legal instrument authorizing one to act as the attorney or agent of the grantor |
| investment liquidity | the ability to convert an asset into cash quickly without losing significant value |
| probate | the action or process of proving before a competent judicial authority that a document offered for official recognition and registration as the last will and testament of a deceased person is genuine |
| personal financial planning | is the process of managing your money to achieve your personal financial goals |
| estate planning | the arranging for the disposition and management of one's estate at death through the use of wills, trusts, insurance policies, and other devices |
