No solution Coefficients are the same, but the constants are different ex. 3x - 4 = 3x +5
Infinite Solutions Coefficients and constants are the same ex. 3x - 4 = 3x - 4
One solution Coefficients are different- constants don't matter ex. 3x - 4 = 5x + 3
Linear Equations exponent on VARIABLE is 0 or 1 ex. x + 1, 6x, y = 4
Non-Linear Equations exponent on VARIABLE is not 0 or 1 ex. x^3, x^-1, 1/x
Linear Graphs 1 straight line
Non-Linear Graphs not a straight line or a shape with more than 1 straight line side
Write and solve an equation with parallel lines cut by a transversal- supplementary angle 1 + angle 2 = 180, then solve and substitute for each angle
