| Term | Definition |

| Delegates | Repetition members of Congress, who cast votes based on the wishes of the people who elect them |
| Trustees | Lawmakers Who vote based on his or her conscious or judgment |
| Partisans | Lawmakers who owe their allegiance to his or her political party and votes accordingly to their party line |
| Politicos | Attempt to combine the basic elements of the delegated, trustee and partisan roles- try’s to balance all other three beliefs |

| Floor consideration | That be considered an acted upon a full membership of the house or Senate |
| Over sight function | The process by which Congress checks to see that the executive branch agencies are carrying out policies that the Congress has set by law |
| Term | Two year period when someone serves |
| Session | Is that period of time during which each year Congress assembles and conducts business |
| Convene | Beginning a new session of Congress |
| Adijourn | Suspense until it’s next session |
| Recess | A time when both houses of Congress temporarily suspends business |

| Special session | An extraordinary session of a legislative body called to deal with an emergency situation |
| Franking privilege | Allows Congress to mail letters and other materials, postage free by substituting their facsimile signature for the postage |
