| Fraction | A number that shows part of a whole. |
| Denominator | The bottom number in a fraction that tells how many equal parts the whole is divided into. |
| Numerator | The top number in a fraction that tells how many parts are being used or counted. |
| Least common denominator (lcd) | The smallest denominator that two or more fractions have in common. |
| Least common multiple (lcm) | The smallest number that is a multiple of two or more numbers. |
| Equivalent fraction | Fractions that have different numbers but represent the same amount. |
| Mixed number | A number made up of a whole number and a fraction. |
| Improper fraction | A fraction where the numerator is larger than or equal to the denominator. |
| Greatest common factor (gcf) | The largest number that divides evenly to the denominator. |
| Simplify (simplest form) | To make a fraction as small as possible by dividing the numerator and denominator by the same number. |
