| Sexual Reproduction | A type of reproduction in which a new organism is produced by combining two parent sex cells |
| Sperm | The reproductive cell or gamete of the male parent produced in the testicles |
| Egg | In organisms that reproduce sexually , the sex cell (gamete) of the parent female |
| Meiosis | A division of the cell nucleus to produce sex cells (gametes) |
| Fertilization | In organisms that reproduce sexually, the fusion of an egg and sperm (gametes) |
| Zygote | In sexually reproducing organisms , the cell formed by fertilization |
| DNA | Deoxyribonucleic acid, a chemical in the cell nucleus that information and stores the genetic code , consists of stands of molecules that control the activity of cells , using coded instructions |
| Gene | The segment of DNA on a chromosome that directs the making of a specific protein , thereby controlling the traits are passed to offspring |
| RNA | Ribonucleic acid, carries codes for protein production |
| Mutation | Any permanent change in the genetic material bodies |
