QuestionAnswer
Mole A mole of a substance is that amount of it which contains the Avogadro's constant number of particles
Avogadro's Constant is the number of carbon atoms in exactly 12 grams of the C-12 isotope. This equals 6x10 to the power of 23 particles
Avogadro's Law equal volumes of all gases measured at the same temperature and pressure contain equal numbers of molecules
Molar Mass The mass of one mole of a substance is it's relative atomic mass (Ar) (or it's relative molecular mass (Mr) ) expressed in grams
Molar Volume at Standard Temperature and Pressure (s.t.p) the volume of 1 mole of any gas is 22.4 liters (22,400 cm cubed )
Primary standard is a substance which can be obtained in a stable, pure and soluble solid form so that it can be weighed out and dissolved in water to give out a solution of accurately known concentration
Standard Solution is a solution of accurately known concentration
Volumetric analysis involves reacting together volumes of solutions
Titration A laboratory procedure where a measured volume of one solution is added to a known volume of another solution until the reaction is complete.
Equivalence point Stage where two solutions just react completely with each other.
End point when the equivalence point is shown by the indicator
analyte Is the chemical species being analyzed to determine its concentration, identity, or properties

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
