| strive | Angry or bitter conflict, struggle, or fighting between people or groups |
| assert | To state something firmly and confidently, or to make sure that something is recognized |
| insignificant | Too small or unimportant to be considered or noticed |
| wary/warily | Cautious and watchful because you sense a potential danger or problem. Warily describes doing something in a wary manner, which means doing it cautiously or suspiciously. |
| vague/vaguely | Unclear, imprecise, or not well-defined. Vaguely means in a vague manner, or to some degree but not a large one |
| deter/deterrent | To deter is to discourage or prevent someone from doing something. A deterrent is a thing that discourages or prevents something, such as a harsh punishment or a security alarm |
| rigorous | Done with extreme care and accuracy, or very strict and demanding |
