Mixtures & Solutions

TermDefinition
Mass the amount of matter (stuff) in an object.
Volume the amount of space an object takes up.
Density how heavy an object is for it's size.
Matter anything that has mass and takes up space.
Mixture 2 or more materials mixed together that can be taken apart
Solutions a solid dissolve in water to make a clear liquid
Solute The song says that dissolve in a liquid(salt).
Solvent A liquid that a substance dissolved into(water).
Evaporation When a liquid changes state to a gas(heat).
Condensation When a gas changes state to a liquid(cools)
Property A characteristic of an object that can be observed (size, color, shape, texture).
Concentration The amount of solute in a certain amount of solvent.
Concentrated A solution that contains a lot of solute (salt, sugar).
Diluted A solution that contains a small amount of solute (salt, sugar).
Saturated When no more solute can be dissolved in a solvent.
