EDL Qualitative

QuestionAnswer
Socialization a process by which individuals acquire the habits, beliefs and accumulated knowledge of society through education and training for membership in a group or organization.
Research Question An interrogative sentence that highlights the phenomenon to be studied and indicates what the researcher wishes to know about it.
Phenomenology A qualitative research approach that seeks to describe and interpret the lived experiences of individuals to reveal the essence and meaning of a phenomenon as they perceive it.
Ethnography A qualitative method that explores the shared patterns, beliefs, and behaviors of a cultural group through long-term observation and participation in their natural setting.
Evaluation A qualitative approach that assesses the worth or effectiveness of a program or intervention by analyzing participants' experiences, perceptions, and outcomes within their real-world context.
Collaborative A qualitative approach that engages researchers and participants as partners to co-create knowledge and ensure findings reflect shared perspectives and mutual understanding.
Narrative A qualitative approach that examines personal or collective stories to understand how individuals construct and convey meaning through their experiences.
Case Study A qualitative approach that provides an in-depth, contextualized examination of a single individual, group, organization, or event to understand its complexities and unique characteristics.
Grounded Theory A qualitative method that develops a theory inductively from systematically collected and analyzed data about social processes or experiences.
Action Research A collaborative qualitative approach that addresses practical problems through iterative cycles of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting, involving participants as co-researchers.
