| Centroid | the point of concurrency of the three medians of a triangle, also known as the center of gravity of the triangle. The length from the vertex to the centroid is twice the length from the centroid to the midpoint of the side. |
| Concurrent | when 3 or more lines meet at a single point. |
| Median of a triangle | a line segment connecting a vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side |
| Median of a trapezoid | (also called the midsegment of a trapezoid), a line segment that connects the points of the legs of a trapezoid |
| Mid-Segment | a line segment the joins the midpoints of two sides of a triangle or trapezoid |
| Parallelogram | a quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel |
| Rectangle | a parallelogram with four right angles |
| Rhombus | a parallelogram with four congruent sides |
| Sqaure | a quadrilateral that is both a rectangle and a rhombus |
| Trapezoid | a quadrilateral with at least one pair of opposite sides parallel |
| Kite | a quadrilateral with two pairs of adjacent sides congruent and NO opposite sides congruent |
