Basin A region drained by a river system.
Savanna Tropical grasslands with few trees.
Desertification The process in which grasslands change to desert, which means there is less fertile land to grow food.
Rift Valley A deep valley that formed when Earth's crust separate and broke apart.
Pride A group of lions that averages about 15 members.
Interior Area of land away from the coast.
Deforestation Areas where trees have been cut down to create more land to grow crops
Transition Zone An area between two geographic regions that has characteristics of both regions
Highlands Areas of higher, mountainous land.
Rain Forest A forest with warm temperatures, plentiful rain, high humidity, and thick vegetation
Landlocked Having no direct access to a coast.
Hydroelectric Power Electricity produced by a water source, such as a river.
