| Cubed | a base raised to the power of three |
| Cube Root | the number that produces a given number when multiplied by itself three times; the inverse of cubing a number |
| Decimal Expansion | the process of turning a whole number, fraction or mixed number into a decimal |
| Exponent | the number that indicates how many times the base in a power is multiplied |
| Exponential Notation | a shorthand way of writing repeated multiplication using a base and an exponent |
| Index | in the radical , which represents the nth root of x, n is the index. In the radical , the index is understood to be 2. |
| Irrational number | a number that cannot be expressed as a ratio of two integers or as a repeating or terminating decimal |
| Natural Numbers | the numbers that are used for counting |
| Squared | a base raised to the power of two |
