| RNA | Single stranded macromolecule. Carries code for making proteins. |
| Sexual reproduction | Genetic material from 2 different gametes. Uses fertilization & meiosis. Produces genetic variation. Requires time & energy. |
| Asexual reproduction | One parent organism makes offspring. No gametes, fertilization or meiosis. No mate needed. Produces little genetic variation. |
