Pen Testing Stages

What is Stage 1 of Pen Test Stages? Planning - Collect as much publicly accessible information as possible.
What is Stage 2 of Pen Test Stages? Scanning - Understand how the target application would respond to the intrusion.
What is Stage 3 of Pen Test Stages? Gaining Access - Use of web application attacks such as cross site scripting, SQL Injection, and backdoors, to uncover a targets vulnerabilities.
What is Stage 4 of Pen Test Stages? Maintaining Access - This stage is to see if the vulnerability can be used to achieve persistent presence in the exploited system.
What is Stage 5 of Pen Test Stages? Analysis - The results of the penetration test are then compiled into a report detailing specific vulnerabilities that were exploited, sensitive data that was accessed and the amount of time the pen tester was able to remain undetected.
