How else does Daldry show Billys perserverance Daldry further conveys Billys perserverance through the supportive relationship he shares with Mrs Wilkoson, who engourages him during rehearsals with dialouge such as “prepare” and “go Billy”.
how is Mrs Wilkison good to Billy? Her maternal tone inspires a sese of belief and motivates Billy to persist in acheiving his dreams.
what digetic music is being used? This is complemented by the use of upbeat digetic music - The jams “a town called Malice” which underscores Billys rebellion agaist gender sterotypis and societal expecataions.
how does the music show this? Daldry continues to emphasise this struggle in a mid-shot of Billy bursting out of a toilet cubical in fustration, as the music shifts from agressive to upbeat, it symbolizes his emotianal reales and growing confidence.
how is the motif further reinforced of billys perservarance? the motif of perservarance is further reinforced through the visual metaphor of Billy running uphill, representing his ongoing battle agaisnt the constraints of apatriarchal community with rigid gender norms.
what is Daldry trying to show/why does he use these techniques? Ultimately, Daldy uses these cinematic techniques to show that personal growth and human experience stem from overcomming adversity and staying true to ones identity.
