Carbohydrate A biomolecule made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen that stores energy
Monosaccharide A basic carbohydrate composed of a single sugar unit
Disaccharide A carbohydrate composed of two monosaccharides joined together
Polysaccharide A carbohydrate composed of many sugar units joined together.
Lipid A biomolecule made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen that acts as a long-term store of energy
Triglyceride A lipid composed of three fatty acids and glycerol
Phospholipid A lipid composed of two fatty acids, a phosphate and glycerol
Protein A biomolecule made up of amino acids
Enzyme A biological catalyst that helps to regulate chemical reactions in living organisms
Regulator A chemical that controls the activity of enzymes and metabolic reactions
