Census Population count: used by government for taxes, army, and tracking citizens
Republic Citizens elect leaders
Senate Wealthy citizens who made laws, advised leaders, and ran Rome for centuries.
Magistrate Two rulers elected yearly to prevent power concentration
Patricians Wealthy, powerful families held most government roles; born privileged, they scorned the poor.
Plebeians Common people: farmers, soldiers, workers
Latins Founders of Rome who spoke Latin; the root of many modern languages.
Forum Rome’s main public square: marketplace, court, meeting spot for all
