Amendments changes
Bill of Rights the 10 amendments that were added to the Constitution - placed specific restrictions on government power
1st Amendment Protects the rights of every American
2nd amendment allows Americans to own guns
3rd amendment prevents the quartering act to happen again
4th amendment protects privacy of american citizens / search warrant
5th amendment protects someone from testifying against themselves so they don't look guilty
6th amendment right to a speedy trial
7th amendment guarantees the right to trial by jury in civil
8th amendment prohibits unreasonable bail or fines or cruel punishment
9th amendment protects the rights of Americans that are not listed
10th amendment says the powers not given to the U.S. government belong to the states or to the people
