Reaction types + Concentration

Precipitation reaction 2 soluble ionic compounds mix in an aq solution to form 1 or more insoluble ionic compounds
Precipitate the insoluble ionic compound that is formed
Acid base neutralization reaction an acid reacts with a base to produce a water and a salt (soluble ionic compound)
Acid when placed in water, dissociates into H+ and an ion
Strong acids HCl, HBr, HI, HNO3, HClO4, H2SO4
Bases when placed in water, dissociates into OH- and a cation
Oxidation reduction reaction involves the transfer of electrons
Oxidation the addition of oxygen, loss of electrons
Reduction the removal of oxygen, gain of electrons
