QuestionAnswer
estimation a process used to predict an answer or to check an answer for reasonableness
quotient the result of division
whole numbers the numbers 0,1,2, and so on; they have no decimal or fractional parts
decimal a number containing a decimal point that separates a whole from fractional place values (tenths, hundredths, thousands, and so on.)
dividend in a division problem, the number being divided
divisor in a division problem, the number being multiplied
compatiable numbers numbers that are close in value to the actual numbers, but easier to add, subtract, multiply, or divide
