Statistics and Models

QuestionAnswer
Sample A group of individuals or events selected to represent a statistical population.
Statistics The collection and classification of data that are in the form of numbers
Conceptual model a verbal or graphical explanation for how a system works or is organized.
Distribution The relative arrangements of the members of a statistical population, usually shown in a graph.
Mathematical model one or more equations that represent the way a system or process works
Mean The number obtained by adding up the data for given characteristics and dividing the sum/total by the number of samples/individuals
model a pattern, plan, representation or description designed to show the structure or workings of the object, system or concept.
Probability The likelihood of a future that will okay math ratio of number of times 1 outcome of any event will occur
Risk The probability of an unwanted outcome or event.
