What is Plasma? Unaltered liquid portion
What is Serum? Liquid portion remaining after blood has clotted
5 main types of Leukocytes Monocyte, Lymphocyte, Neutrophil, Basophil, & Eosinophil
What is a Monocyte? What does it do? Large irregular cell with air bubbles, Cleans up debris
What is a Lymphocyte? What does it do? Large round nucleus with very little cytoplasm, Works closely with immune system
What is a Neutrophil? What does it do? Dark purple, segmented nucleus, light blue granules, Most common and first to act
What is a Basophil? What does it do? Dark purple segmented nucleus, dark purple granules, Helps with allergic reactions
What is an Eosinophil? What does it do? Dark purple segmented nucleus, large pink granules, present with parasite infestation
