| Diversion | something that takes your attention away from something else (create a diversion) |
| Ruin | to destroy something completely |
| Unfortunate | unlucky or having bad effects |
| Furious | extremely angry |
| Empty | not containing any things or people (an empty house/street) |
| Taunt | to annoy and upset someone by making unkind remarks to them, laughing unkindly at them, etc. |
| Half-hearted | showing no enthusiasm or interest |
| Eerie | strange in a frightening and mysterious way |
| Ignore | to not listen or give attention to something or someone |
| Trouble | problems or difficulties |
| Fanatic | a person who is extremely interested in something, to a degree that some people find unreasonable |
| Sinister | making you feel that something bad or evil might happen |
| Immortal | living or lasting for ever |
| Biased | showing an unreasonable like or dislike for someone or something based on personal opinions |
| Brooding | feeling sad, worried, or angry for a long time |
| Nag | to criticize or complain often in an annoying way, especially in order to try and make someone do something |
| Lost his/her marbles | said about someone who has lost their ability to think and remember clearly |
| Brave | showing no fear of dangerous or difficult things |
| Hide | to put something or someone in a place where that thing or person cannot be seen or found |
| Thoughtful | kind and always thinking about how you can help other people |
| Resolution | a promise to yourself to do or to not do something |
| Linger | to take a long time to leave or disappear |
| Tremble | to shake slightly in a way that you cannot control, for example because you are frightened, angry, or excited, or because of illness |
| Peer | to look at something or someone carefully |
| Gaze | to look at something or someone for a long time, especially in surprise or admiration, or because you are thinking about something else |
