What does the term range of motion refer to in joint movement? Amount of movement a joint can make in a specific direction. It measures joint flexibility and functionality.
When a skeletal muscle contracts do all muscle fibers contract? No, not all the muscle fibers contract. The number of the fibers needed depends on the force needed for the movement.
In detail tell the story of actin and myosin starting with the brain. Brain sends signal to trigger calcium. Calcium binds to troponin, exposing attachment sites on actin. Myosin attaches to actin and pulls in causing muscle to contract. ATP attaches to myosin to cause release. As long as calcium is there the cycle repeats.
