What is Community Health Nursing? A nursing specialty where the unit of care is a community or group (aggregate) rather than an individual.
What does community-oriented mean in CHN? It means nursing care is shaped by the community's experiences, knowledge, beliefs, values, and culture.
What does population-focused care mean? The nurse uses population-based skills like epidemiology, research, and community organizing as the basis for interventions.
What is meant by interpersonal relationship in CHN? It involves listening, participatory dialogue, critical reflection, advocacy, empowerment, and action with the community.
What is the goal of using theories in CHN? To improve nursing practice and make it easier for nurses to diagnose and address health problems.
What does General Systems Theory explain? It views the client (individual, family, group, or community) as an open system that interacts with its environment.
What is the Social Learning Theory? Learning occurs in a social context where people learn from observing others (modeling).
Example of applying Social Learning Theory in CHN? Serving as a role model, giving instructions, or using multimedia for health education.
What is the Health Belief Model (HBM)? A psychological model that predicts health behavior based on attitudes and beliefs of individuals.
What are the key concepts of HBM? Perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Severity, Perceived Benefits, Perceived Barriers, Cues to Action, and Self-Efficacy.
What is the Health Promotion Model? A model that explores biological, psychological, and social factors that influence health-promoting behaviors.
What does Milio’s Framework for Prevention propose? That health deficits result from an imbalance between a population's health needs and its health-sustaining resources.
What does PRECEDE stand for in the PRECEDE-PROCEED model? Predisposing, Reinforcing, and Enabling Constructs in Educational Diagnosis and Evaluation (used for community diagnosis).
What does PROCEED stand for in the PRECEDE-PROCEED model? Policy, Regulatory, and Organizational Constructs in Educational and Environmental Development (used for implementing and evaluating programs).
