what is nondisjunction? error in meiosis/mitosis where a pair of homolog chromosomes or sister chromatids fail to seperate properly
what is aneuploidy? zygote having one or more additional chromosome pairs
what is monosomic? diploid cell with only one copy of a particular chromosome instead of the normal two
what is trisomic? diploid cell with three copies of a particular chromosome instead of the normal two
what is polypploidy? organism with more than two complete chromosome pairs
what is deletion? chromosome fragment is lost through breakage
what is duplication? broken chromosome fragment reattaches as an extra segment to a sister/nonsister chromatid
what is inversion? chromosome fragment reattaching to OG chromosome but in reverse orientation
what is translocation? fragment joins a nonhomologous chromosome
