QuestionAnswer
Construction documents The contracts, drawings, and specifications for a new or remodel project. They show what and how to build.
Print A copy of a construction drawing.
Architectural symbol A drawing symbol that shows where parts of a building go.
Section view A drawing that shows a “slice” through a building to see inside layers.
Detail view A close-up drawing that shows a small part of the plan clearly.
Floor plan A drawing that shows rooms, walls, doors, and windows from above.
Elevations Drawings that show what walls look like from the front or side.
T-square A T-shaped ruler used to draw straight horizontal lines.
Architectural triangle A triangle-shaped tool used to draw accurate angles.
Architectural scale A ruler used to measure and draw objects in scale.
Template A plastic sheet with shapes you can trace for accuracy.
Furniture template A template with shapes of furniture for drawings.
Bath fixture template A template with shapes of bathroom items.
Kitchen fixture template A template with shapes of kitchen parts.
Structural template A template with shapes of building parts like doors and windows.
Tracing paper Transparent paper for copying or designing drawings.
CADD Computer software used to create and change design drawings easily.
Rendering Adding color and shading to make a drawing look 3-D and realistic.
Pencil Drawing tool that uses lead; easy to erase mistakes.
Pen and ink Drawing with ink pens; gives sharp lines but hard to fix.
Felt-tip markers Colored markers that add bright color and depth to drawings.
Color pencils Colored pencils used to add color and shading.
