Pure Substances every sample has the exact same properties and composition. Made of one kind of element or molecules must be an element or compound.
Elements They are defined as pure substances made from only one type of atom.
Compounds a substance that is made from the atoms of two or more elements that are CHEMICALLY COMBINED
Molecules smallest possible unit of an element or compound that retains all of the properties of that element or compound.
Mixtures a blend or a physical combination of two or more kinds of matter, each retains its own properties. They can be both homogeneous or heterogeneous.
Homogeneous Mixture (solutions) mixtures that are uniform in composition
Heterogeneous Mixture mixtures that are not uniform throughout
