Why was it a bad time to tell Mary the news? She is six months pregnant.
How is Patrick dismissive of Mary’s feelings? He tells her not to make a fuss. He doesn’t comfort her or even seem to care.
By telling the tale from Mary’s point of view, the author ensures that we think less about? (think about Patrick) We don’t think about why he is leaving her in the first place.
What was Mary’s alibi? She practiced smiling and rehearsing how she would act in the grocery store. She went to the grocery store and spoke with Sam, the grocer. She explained that Patrick was too tired to go out to eat. She told him how she was coming to get vegetables
What is the frozen lamb of the leg compared to? Steel Club
How was Mary a traditional house wife? She was pregnant and sewing. She cooked and waited on her husband.
