Location Location describes where something is found.
Relative Location describes where a place is located in relation to another place. Where it is nearby.
Absolute Location describes the exact location of a place using longitude and latitude.
Place describes the human and physical features that make a location different from any other place on Earth.
Human/Environment Interaction describes how people affect the environment and how the environment affects people.
Movement explains how people, goods, information, and ideas move from place to place.
Region name areas that share one or more features are grouped together.
Geography The study of places on Earth and the relationships between people and their environment.
Latitude lines that extend horizontally on the globe and run East and West. They are parallel to the the Equator
Longitude lines that extend vertically on the globe and run North to South. They are parallel to the Prime Meridian.
When writing an address we find on a globe, we use coordinates
coordinates tell the degree of latitude and the degree of longitude.
When writing coordinates, do we write latitude first or longitude? latitude
Title tells what the map is about
Map Legend/Key- defines the symbols used on the map
Scale shows the distance on a map
Compass Rose- shows direction on a map
