Amendments

| 1st Amendment | Freedom of Religion (free exercise and establishment clauses), Assembly, Press, Petition, Speech (RAPPS) |
| 2nd Amendment | Right to bear arms |
| 3rd Amendment | Prohibits the quartering of troops without consent |
| 4th Amendment | Protects against unreasonable searches and seizures |
| 5th Amendment | protects from self incrimination, double jeopardy, guarantees due process, and eminent domain |
| 6th Amendment | Right to a fair and speedy trial with jury of your peers, right to an attorney, criminal cases |
| 7th Amendment | Right to a jury of your peers in civil cases |
| 8th Amendment | Prohibits excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment |
| 9th Amendment | People have other rights not specifically listed in the Constitution, unenumerated rights |
| 10th Amendment | Any power not given to the federal government is reserved for the states (Federalism) |
| 11th Amendment | Individuals cannot sue a state in federal court |
| 12th Amendment | Electors will vote for POTUS and VP |
| 13th Amendment | Abolished slavery |
| 14th Amendment | Includes equal protection, due process, citizenship, privileges and immunities clauses, and selective incorporation |
| 15th Amendment | No one shall be denied the right to vote based on race |
| 16th Amendment | Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes |
| 17th Amendment | Citizens will directly elect their senators |
| 18th Amendment | prohibition of manufacture, sale, and transportation of alcohol (overturned by the 21st) |

| 20th Amendment | The “lame duck” amendment. Moved Congress and the President taking office up to January |
