| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Power battery | A device consisting of one or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy. |
| Pneumatics | Relating to air or other gases, using compressed gasses to drive mechanical motion. |
| Regulator | A valve that automatically cuts off the flow of a liquid or gas at a certain pressure. Maintains a set pressure in the circuit. |
| Actuator | Converts the pressurized gas into motion. |
| Reservoir Tank | Stores potential energy in the form of compressed air. |
| *Shut off valve | Opens or closes to allow air. |
| Speed Valve | Controls the flow rate |
| Pressure | Force per area, typically has units of PSI or pounds per square inch. The air tank exerts a force on the shell of the tank. |
| Solenoid Valve | An electrical signal that activates a magnet which moves a piston up or down to control the airflow. |
| Flow rate | Flow rate is the mass of a substance which passes per unit of time. |
| Cradle/ End effector | Is a device or tool connected to the end of a robot arm. |
| Force/ Velocity | Any interaction which tends to change the motion of an object. In other words, a force can cause an object with mass to change its velocity. |
| Procedures | An established way of doing something. |
| Variability | How spread out a set of data is. |
| odds of winning / probability | The relative possibility that an event will occur, as expressed by the ratio of the number of actual occurrences to the total number of possible occurrences. |
