| 1st amendment | Haley was upset that the government was considering taxing purchases over the internet. She made a sign saying no taxes on internet sales and carried it in front of her local congressman's office each afternoon for two weeks. |
| 2nd amendment | Jane's home had been broken into twice in the last month. She feared for the safety of her family and herself. She did not own a firearm, but decided to purchase a firearm for the protection of her family and property. |
| 3rd amendment | The military in Mike's hometown asked if they could station troops at his house while the base was being remodeled. Mike told them no. He didn't want to house soldiers in his civilian home. It would be intimidating to his family & alarm the neighbors. |
| 4th amendment | Local police suspected that John had illegal prescription medicine in his home. The police asked to go through his home to see what prescriptions he had, but John refused saying they would have to get a warrant to do such a search. |
| 5th amendment | Joe is in jail for stealing property. It's been a week since his arrest and the local prosecutor still hasn't provided proof there was stolen property in Joe's possession & no court date had been set, so Joe was released from jail for lack of evidence. |
| 6th amendment | John was arrested 20 days ago for assault on a patron at a local restaurant. He was being held for trial, but had not been given defense council. The court ordered that he be provided a defense council and that a trial date be set as quickly as possible. |
| 7th amendment | Bailey sued Shirley for extensive damage to her house that she had rented to Shirley for 60 days. Shirley said the home was like that when she moved in so Shirley requested her case be heard by a jury of her peers to determine the truth. |
| 8th amendment | Megan stole a $50.00 necklace to sell for money so she could buy games for herself. This was Megan's first offense. The judge decided to make an example out of her, so he set the fine to $10,000.00 and sentenced her to serve 90 days in jail. |
| 9th amendment | It was discovered by a nosey reporter that the federal government was considering not allowing religion to be spoken about in public, that the only place that would be allowed to speak of religion would be in a church or sanctuary. |
| 10th amendment | The federal government was working towards federalizing all public schools throughout the United States to fall completely under the control of the Department of Education with no local school boards or administrators involved |
| 11th amendment | The federal government wanted to sue the state of Kansas for not allowing legalization of certain illegal drugs in Kansas. |
| 12th amendment | Kyle was chosen as an elector at the state convention to represent the state of Indiana in the upcoming 2016 Presidential elections. |
| 13th amendment | Poor migrant workers on a couple of large farms were forced to work for no wages or compensation with threat of being turned into local authorities if they did not do as they were told. |
| 14th amendment | While visiting family in the US, Mary gave birth to a baby. Since her new baby was born in the US they are now a legal citizen. Mary could now apply for citizenship and to stay in the US since her baby is now a legal citizen. |
| 15th amendment | Jackson was excited this special day as he was the first black man to vote in a local mayoral election. He was very proud when he cast his ballot to choose who he thought would be the best mayor. |
