Sentence Types

QuestionAnswer
Independent Clause Can stand by it's self or with a Dependent.Expresses a complete thought , subject predicate.
Dependent Clause Cannot stand by themselves.Do not express a complete thought. Conjunction+Subject+predicate
Simple Sentence consist of a independent clause that includes a subject a verb.
Compound Sentence Two independent clauses joined together by a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semi-colon
Complex Sentence One independent clause joined to a dependent Clause with a subordinating conjunction.
Compound-Complex Sentence 2 or more independent clauses joined to 1 or more dependent clauses.
