| Symbiosis | A close long-term relationship between two species that usually involves an exchange of food or energy |
| Commensalism | A symbiotic relationship that benefits one species but does not harm or benefit the other |
| Parasitism | A symbiotic relationship that benefits ones species and harms the other |
| Mutualism | A symbiotic relationship in which both partners benefit |
| Cooperative relationships | A cooperative relationship in an ecosystem is when different living things, sometimes of different species, work together to help each other survive and thrive |
| Predator-prey relationship | When one animal, the predator, hunts and eats another animal, the prey, for food |
| Competitive relationship | When living things, such as animals or plants, struggle against each other for the same limited resources like food, water, and space |
