Ontario coroners act; a coroner may

examine or take possession of any dead body or both & enter and inspect any place where a dead body is & any place from which the coroner has reasonable grounds for believing the body was removed.

coroner may authorize a legally qualified medical practitioner or a police officer to exercise all or any of the coroners powers under section 1
