Fade-IN Transition in which a shot fades in from or out to a black field
Dissolve Transition in which shot B gradually appears over shot A to replace it
Wipe Transition in which shot B moves across shot A to replace it
Iris Shot Wipe effect in which the wipe line is a circle
Match-on-Action Cut A match cut in which one action continues from one shot to the next
Eye-line-Match-Cut A match cut that joins a shot of a character looking offscreen with a shot of what the character is seeing
Graphic Match Cut A match cut in which the shape, color, or texture of objects moves across the edit
Jump Cut Removing a piece from the middle of a shot, leaving an instantaneous shot forward.
Match Cut A cut that preserves continuity between shots
