QuestionAnswer
What is a simile? A figure of speech, comparison of one thing to another thing.
What is a Metaphor? figure of speech that compares two thing with the world "like" or "as".
What is a Personification? Something doing or using human emotions or living like a human.
What is a hyperbole? Exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
What is Onomatopoeia? Word to make it like a sound.
What is an Idiom? A phrase whose meaning cannot be understood from the literal meaning of the words.
What is an Alteration? The repetition of the same initial consonant sound in a series of words.
What is Irony ? A rhetorical device involving contradictions.
What is Imagery? Uses descriptive language to create metal pictures that appeal to the senses.
What is Symbolism? sing objects, Colors, or ideas to represent deeper meaning beyond the literal.
