QuestionAnswer
Independent Clause a group of words that contains a subject and verb and expresses a complete thought
Dependent Clause a group of words that contains a subject and verb but does not express a complete thought.
Simple Sentence sentences containing one independent clause, with a subject and a predicate
Compound Sentence made up of two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction
Complex Sentence A complex sentence consists of one independent clause and one or more dependent (subordinate) clauses
