Europe and Russia

QuestionAnswer
domestic refers to within one’s own country.
Foreign refers to belonging to another country.
Manufacturing the making of articles on a large scale using machinery; industrial production.
Productivity how well a person completes a task, in a given time
Innovation a new method, idea, product, etc
Demographics statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it
Euro the currency used by the people in the European Union
Feudal system a social structure during the Middle Ages consisting of a king, lords, vassals and serfs
Imperialism the policy of extending the rule or authority of a nation or empire over foreign countries
Parliament a legislative body in various countries, similar to our Congress.
prime minister the elected head of government, similar to our president
Colonialism Practice of taking over full or parts of another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it
Nationalism identifies with one's own nation and support for its interests
Alliance an agreement to maintain a friendship.
Genocide refers to the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a certain ethnic group.
Interdependence the dependence of two or more people or things on each other
Push-Pull Factors factors “push” people away from their home and include things like war. factors “pull” people to a new home and include things like better opportunities
transportation barrier a geographic feature that prevents or slows transportation.
transportation corridor a geographic feature that makes transportation easier.
