Simple Sentence
| Term | Definition |

| Independent Clause | Can stand itself or with a dependent Clause expresses a complete thought subject, predicate, conjunction |
| Dependent Clause | Cannot stand by themselves. Do not expresses a complete thought conjunction, subject, and predicate. |
| Simple Sentence | Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb. |
| Compound Sentence | Independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon. |
| Complex Sentence | Will always contain a subordinating conjunction. |
| Compound-Complex Sentence | Combines two or more independent clauses at least one dependent clause |
