Simple Sentence

TermDefinition
Independent Clause Can stand itself or with a dependent Clause expresses a complete thought subject, predicate, conjunction
Dependent Clause Cannot stand by themselves. Do not expresses a complete thought conjunction, subject, and predicate.
Simple Sentence Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb.
Compound Sentence Independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon.
Complex Sentence Will always contain a subordinating conjunction.
Compound-Complex Sentence Combines two or more independent clauses at least one dependent clause
