SENTENCE TYPES

QuestionAnswer
INDEPENDENT CLAUSE Can stand by itself or with a dependent. Expresses a complete thought. Subject-Predictie (no conjunction).
DEPENDENT CLAUSE Cannot stand by itself. Do not express a complete thought. Conjuction + Subject+ Predicite.
SIMPLE SENTENCE Consists or a single, independent clause that includes a subject and a verb.
COMPOUND SENTENCE Joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjuction or just a semicolon.
COMPLEX SENTENCE A single independent clause and a dependent clause, will always contain a subordinate conjuction.
COMPOUND-COMPLEX SENTENCE Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause.
