sentence types

QuestionAnswer
Independent Clause Can stand by itself or with a dependent express a complete thought, Subject predicate no conjunction.
Dependent Clause Cannot stand by itself. Do not express a complete thought. Conjunction subject predicate
Simple Sentence Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb/predicate.
Compound Sentence Joins 2 independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolun.
Complex Sentence A single independent clause and a dependent clause will always contain a subbordinate conjunction.
Compound-Complex Sentence Combines 2 or more independent clauses with at least on independent clause.
