sentence types
| Question | Answer |

| Independent Clause | Can stand by itself or with a dependent express a complete thought, Subject predicate no conjunction. |
| Dependent Clause | Cannot stand by itself. Do not express a complete thought. Conjunction subject predicate |
| Simple Sentence | Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb/predicate. |
| Compound Sentence | Joins 2 independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolun. |
| Complex Sentence | A single independent clause and a dependent clause will always contain a subbordinate conjunction. |
| Compound-Complex Sentence | Combines 2 or more independent clauses with at least on independent clause. |
