sentence types

QuestionAnswer
independent clause can stand alone by itself expresses its complete thought a subject or predicate with no conjunction
dependent clause cannot stand by themselves and do not express a complete thought.
simple scentence consists a single independent clause
compound sentence joins 2 independent clauses with the help of a comma and a subordinating conjunctions or just a semi colon
complex scentence a single independent clause and a dependent clause joined by a conjunction
compound complex combines 2 or more independent clauses at least 1 dependent clause.
