Sentence Types
| Question | Answer |

| Independent Clause | Can stand alone by itself. Expresses a complete thought. Has a subject and a predicate. |
| Dependent Clause | Cannot stand alone by itself. Does not express a complete thought or idea. Subordinate conjunction and predicate. |
| Simple Sentence | Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb. |
| Compound Sentence | Joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon. |
| Complex Sentence | A single independent clause and a subordinate conjunction. |
| Compound -Complex | Two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent Clause. |
