| Independent claues | A clause that can stand by itself as a simple sentence; Can stand alone by itself;Subjest+Predicate( NO CONJUNCTION) |
| dependent clause | Start with subordinating conjunctions , Does not express a complete thought subordinating conjunctions+ subject+ predica |
| simple sentence | A single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb |
| compound sentence | Joins two independent clause together with a comma and a coordinating conjunction or semi colon |
| complex sentence | 1 Independent clause & 1 dependent clause ( ALWAYS HAVE A SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTION) |
| compound-complex sentence | combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause. |
