sentence types

QuestionAnswer
independent clause can stand by itself,expresses a complex thought subjust+predict (no conjunction)
dependent clause cannot stand by themselves, do not express a complete thought, conjuction +subject+ predicate
simple sentence consists of a single, independent clause that includes a subject and a verb
compound sentence Joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjuction or just a semi colon
complex sentence a single independent clause and a dependent clause
compound-complex sentence combines two or more independent clauses with at least one independent clause
