sentence types

QuestionAnswer
Independent clauses Can stay alone by itself. Express a complete thought. Subject+ Predicate ( no conjunction)
Dependent clauses Cannot stand alone by itself. Doesn't express a complete thought. Sub -Coordinate+ Subject+ Predicate
Simple sentences Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb. (Predicate)
Compound sentences Joins two independent clauses with help from a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon.
Complex sentences A single independent clause and a dependent clause will always have a coordinating conjunction.
Compound- Complex sentences Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause.
