sentence types
| Question | Answer |

| Independent clauses | Can stay alone by itself. Express a complete thought. Subject+ Predicate ( no conjunction) |
| Dependent clauses | Cannot stand alone by itself. Doesn't express a complete thought. Sub -Coordinate+ Subject+ Predicate |
| Simple sentences | Consists of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb. (Predicate) |
| Compound sentences | Joins two independent clauses with help from a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon. |
| Complex sentences | A single independent clause and a dependent clause will always have a coordinating conjunction. |
| Compound- Complex sentences | Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause. |
