QuestionAnswer
Flashback a scene in a movie, novel, etc., set in a time earlier than the main story.
Foreshadow A narrative device that hints at coming events; often builds suspense or anxiety in the reader.
Conflict A struggle between two opposing forces
Suspense Uncertainty or anxiety the reader feels about what is going to happen next in a story
Antagonist A character or force in conflict with the main character
Protagonist Main character in a story
Mood Feeling or atmosphere that a writer creates for the reader
Tone Attitude a writer takes toward the audience, a subject, or a character
Speaker the voice of the poem
Meter A regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables in a line of poetry
