Sentance types
| Term | Definition |

| Independent Clause | can stand by itself or with a dependent. expresses a complete thought. subject + plus (conjunction) |
| Dependent Clause | cannot stand by itself. does not express a complete thought. conjunction + subject +predicate |
| Simple Sentence | consist of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb. |
| Compound Sentence | join together by a FANBOY with a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon |

| compound-complex Sentence | Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause |
