Sentance types

TermDefinition
Independent Clause can stand by itself or with a dependent. expresses a complete thought. subject + plus (conjunction)
Dependent Clause cannot stand by itself. does not express a complete thought. conjunction + subject +predicate
Simple Sentence consist of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb.
Compound Sentence join together by a FANBOY with a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon
Complex Sentence a single independent
compound-complex Sentence Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause
